FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What time will my castle/inflatable be delivered and collected?
A. We have standard delivery and collection times. Delivery is between 8am-10am on the day of hire and collection is between 5pm-7pm. However, we are happy to discuss alternative times depending on your requirements so please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate times.

Q. How are the castles inflated?
A. Our bouncy castles are inflated using electric fan blowers. All you need is a suitable socket located in your house or outbuilding. We do provide a 40m long extension cable with all of our castles so your plug will need to be within this distance of the inflatable.

Q. Can I deflate the castle myself?
A. If you wish to deflate the castle, firstly ensure that nobody is on the castle, and then simply unplug the fan. The castle will slowly collapse.

Q: What happens if it’s raining or particularly bad weather on the day of the booking?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot deliver in strong winds. However, rain will not affect the castle.
If we cancel your booking due to weather you will receive a full refund.

Q: How much space do I need for a bouncy castle?
A: Please take a look at our product pages where you will find all of the information and dimensions of each of our castles. We also ask that you ensure there is an additional 5ft at both the back and front of the inflatable and at least another 2ft on either side.

Q: What access is required to deliver a bouncy castle?
A: We simply need a standard size path to get the castle into your garden or venue. This is because we use a cart in order to place the castle in the correct location.

Q: We have booked an indoor venue, can the bouncy castles go indoors?
A: Yes, however you must consider the height, as some venues are not suitable. So before booking, we always suggest that you check our product pages for the measurements and compare with the venue.

Q: Are you fully insured?
A: Yes. Ashford Inflatable Hire carries public liability insurance to the value of 5 million pounds which ensures that we are covered for any faults during set up or defective equipment. This does not mean that we are liable for any injuries during the time you have one of our castle. During this time the hirer is responsible for any injuries that occur and can therefore claim as the hirer.

Q: How much notice do I need to give to book a castle?
A: We do get very busy, so for more choice, please book as soon as you can! There is a small deposit required to reserve your booking.

Q: When the castle is delivered, do I have to set it up myself or do you do it?
A: The delivery person will completely set up the castle. When we collect the castle, we will also dismantle it. So all you have to do is enjoy the day!

Q: How many children/adults are allowed on the castle?
A: Each castle has different limits. Please note children's castles should never be used by adults. Plus, please also remember that the hirer is responsible for any damage.

Q: Is it ok to put a bouncy castle on my lawn, will it cause much damage?
A: We would actually prefer to put the bouncy castle on a lawn area. For safety reasons we must hammer in securing pegs to hold the castle down during use. The holes left over from the securing pegs will disappear after a few days.

Q: Can you put a bouncy castle on a concrete floor?
A: Unfortunalty this is likely to damage the castle so we require a lawn area for all bookings.

Q: How long do I get to keep the bouncy castle?
A: We usually deliver the castles first thing in the morning and then collect them later on that day. If you wish to keep the castle for more than one day please mention this when booking.

Q: Am I allowed to hire this castle from you and then charge people to use the castle?
A: Yes, of course, this is a great way to make money for you chosen charity or cause. However, you must bear in mind that you are in charge and must therefore ensure that customers are safe. Do not overload the castle to try to make extra money. As the hirer you are liable for any damages.

Q: Are your units safe? How will I know what to do?
A: Yes, all of our castles are designed with safety in mind and tested regularly. In addition, we review all safety rules with you prior to use. While no one can guarantee safety, we do everything we can to promote safe use of our products to ensure your day is filled with fun.

Q: How much do you inflatables cost?
A: We have a wide range of castles with varying prices, from £ for a children's castle. Just browse our site to see all of the castles which are marked with their individual prices.

Q: What are the appropriate ages for bouncing?
A: With a range of castles to choose from, we cover all ages. So no matter what age you are, we can find the right castle for you.

Q: My garden slopes a bit - will that be OK?
A: Yes, a slight slope is not a problem. However, the safety of the children is the most important consideration when selecting a setup area, so if you are unsure then please get in touch.

Q: Do your inflatables use electricity? How much do they use?
A: Yes. The blower required for our castles runs continuously and uses approximately £0.12 of electricity per hour. To give you some idea of what that means, a hairdryer uses more electricity!

Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: You can book online or through our facebook page 24/7, or you can even give us a call on 07889492870 We are always happy to help so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Q: My party is tomorrow. Can I still get a rental?
A: If we have availability then yes of course. Simply get in touch and we will do our best to accomodate you. However, please remember that last minute bookings will only be able to choose from the inflatables that are still left in stock. Therefore, it is preferable to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, especially as there is no deposit required.

Q: Can I keep the bouncy castle overnight?
A: Yes! For an additional charge of £50, you are able to keep the castle overnights. However, the castle must be kept in a safe and secure area, such as a back garden, that is locked and fenced by a fence at least 5ft tall. Ashford Inflatable Hire reserves the right to cancel the overnight hire, at any event and time, if we have reason to believe that our property is at risk of damage or theft.

Q: Is it cheaper if we pick up the bouncy castle ourselves?
A: No. All of the Ashford Inflatable Hire drivers are fully trained to install our equipment and complete an on site inspection as required by our insurance company.
